East Brisbane Swim Club – 9th Overall at Queensland State Championships
The Queensland State Championships held from 10 – 16 December 2011, was one of the most successful years for East Brisbane Swim Club.
A record number of swimmers attended with;
· 41 individual swimmers qualifying,
· 66 swimmers participating in the relays for East Brisbane or for the Southside Region.
Special congratulations go to Taylor Green, being awarded Age Champion for 14 Years Girls.
East Brisbane were awarded 19 Medals with;
· 7 Gold,
· 8 Silver,
· 4 Bronze,
and 32 swimmers in the finals.
4 East Brisbane relay teams were in the medals;
· Gold – 9 – 10 Year Medley Relay,
· Gold – 14 and Under Freestyle Relay,
· Silver – 9 – 10 Year Freestyle Relay,
· Silver – 14 and Under Freestyle Relay.
Southside Relay teams, with East Brisbane Swim Club represented, also experienced success;
· Gold – 12 Year and Under Medley Relay (Harrison Abeya),
· Silver - 9 – 10 Medley Relay (Jackson Abeya).

East Brisbane Swim Club finished 9th overall. This is an exceptional effort by all swimmers, Mark, Mitchell, Jo and all members of the coaching team. Congratulations.
